12 Years is plenty of time for experience, but not long enough to attract those looking for a career.
With Article 1 defining the lengths of individual terms as 6 years for the Senate(divided into 3 groups, one group up for election every 2 years) and 2 years for the house, a 12 year max for life limit will allow 2 terms in the Senate OR an equal number of years in the House, OR a combination, BUT never exceeding the maximum 12 years.... This is a number that the State Legislatures will support as we use the second option of Article 5 to impose Term Limits on the US Congress, without needing Congress's approval!
Our founding fathers left us this option should our government even evolve into the aristocratic, unrepresentative government that they fought against for our freedom. That time has come!
